Since the 1970’s UPS has been a pioneer of environmental friendly solutions. From spotting a gap in the market where pallets were routinely thrown on landfill or burnt, to realising that they could be re-used.
When we repair our pallets we use re-claimed timber (from pallets that are beyond economic repair) rather than further depleting precious timber stocks.
Remember that a second-hand pallet is free from packaging waste regulations and will save your company money.
To maximise the use of our transport we have invested in a fleet of extra high curtain-sided trailer units which enable us to deliver in larger numbers to our customers thereby reducing the number of vehicles that we put on the road.
Are you currently sending your scrap pallets for chipping? Don’t!! Whilst it may seem on the surface environmentally friendly it isn’t- it is much better for the environment to have them stripped or repaired so that the timber can be reused time and time again, instead of resorting to using new timber to make new pallets.
